Oil Leaks
Oil leaks can range from those that are so small as to be nothing more than a minor nuisance to those that are severe gushers and which create serious operational and safety hazards.
We classify leaks into three groups based on severity.
Class 1 Leak:
Thin oil film on cylinder rod, barrel, or component, not enough to cause droplets / drips.
.
Class 2 Leak:
Oil droplets / drips, up to one drop per minute; does not usually form a puddle.
.
Class 3 Leak:
Oil droplets / drips in excess of one drop per minute up to gushers; oil leak that forms a puddle.
