The serial number is stamped into the frame.
This photo shows the two most common locations for serial numbers for Clark trucks built through 1994.
Go to our Used Equipment tab and the section titled Clark Serial Number Location for more information on serial number locations for various models of trucks.
From approximately 1949 to 1958, a letter system was used to identify the year and month of production.
The letter system spells CLARK EQUIPMT
The serial number of the truck consists of:
Two or more letters and numbers designating the Model, plus
One to three numbers designating the Unit Number, plus
Two letters designating the Year and Month of production of the truck, plus
In some cases, starting in 1954, one to three additional numbers designating a "Lot Number".
Lot Numbers were first used in 1954, and some serial numbers will include both the Two Letter date code and a Lot Number. The "Lot Number" can be used to identify the year of manufacture of the truck, or
The last two letters can be used to identify the Year and Month of manufacture of the truck.
The last two letters of the serial number sequence designate the Year and Month of manufacture as follows:
|

First Letter = Year |
